PALACIOS, Texas (Monday, September 26, 2022) –– Donations totaling $100,000 were recently presented to local and national organizations by the team at Beachside and Lynn Development. Stuart A. Lynn, P.E., Founder and CEO of Lynn Development, and his business partner Stacy O’Quinn presented $50,000 to the Women’s Pregnancy Center of Matagorda County, $25,000 to Matagorda County CASA, and another $25,000 to international aid organization Food For The Poor.
“Overjoyed, astonished, and grateful don’t even begin to sum up the emotions happening over at the Women’s Pregnancy Center after receiving the generous donation from the team at Beachside!,” said Krtisin Straub, Executive Director at Women’s Pregnancy Center of Matagorda County. “This generosity is going to propel WPC forward in becoming a complete medical facility and offering FREE ultrasounds beginning January 2023! A huge thank you to the team all those at Lynn Group for supporting the organization and giving them the freedom to continue to provide vital services to the community. Members of the Beachside team completed a three-day training and teambuilding event held at Weir’s Lodge in Palacios on Sept. 19, 20, and 21. The three-day event featured the offerings of the Palacios community and Matagorda County so that the team could enjoy more connections to the area and showcase the City by the Sea to potential new residents in the best way possible.
“Everything we do is to make a positive impact on people,” said Lynn. “We believe that Palacios is the most beautiful location on the Texas coast and the community’s number one resource is its people. Our team is fortunate to be able to give back and we’re proud to support these fantastic organizations.”
Twelve members were divided up into three teams of four to compete in challenges and exercises such as an area scavenger hunt, golf at Palacios Golf Course/Links of Turtle Creek, and fishing in the Tres Palacios Bay to score points in the three-day contest. Each team represented a charitable organization of their choice.
“I’m so glad to have attended this enlightening event,” said Palacios Mayor Jim Gardner. “Meeting Stuart and the team at Beachside has gone a long way to change the perceptions of many concerned about the history of the development. You can tell that Stuart loves his community, he loves people, and he is more interested in a successful Palacios than what the intentions of other developers might have been. These are not your typical developers, and these donations to deserving organizations are evidence of that.”
The week culminated in a community dinner attended by local officials such as County Judge Nate McDonald and Mayor Gardner. An unannounced presentation of the gifts to the organizations represented followed dinner.
