Lynn Development to break ground on Pelican Place

PALACIOS, Texas (Tuesday, August 10, 2021) – Lynn Development, alongside the Palacios Chamber of Commerce, will host a groundbreaking ceremony for Pelican Place at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. The 19-acre subdivision development on the north side of Palacios will soon be home to 70 new single-family homes.

“This project is remarkable for Matagorda County, especially as it relates to recruiting and retaining business in the area,” said Scott Hardwick, Executive Director of the Palacios Economic Development Corporation. “A new subdivision is a huge benefit to the community. New housing stock will provide options for employers and workers alike – especially those people experiencing a watershed moment and leaving the bigger cities for more familial lifestyles in communities like ours.”

The first homesites will be located along Seventh Street on the north side of Palacios, located behind the Lowe’s Market grocery. 

Pelican Place features single-family homes beginning in the $150k range up to $200k. The subdivision offers five different floor plans–ranging from 1,218 sq. ft. to 1,505 sq. ft.–with four elevations of each floor plan available, for a total of 20 possible combinations for the one-level, 3BR/2BA, two-car garage homes.

These various footprints will maximize function and use of space, as well as energy efficiency. The prospective homeowners need only to make a few preferential choices at the beginning of the process, and the Lynn team will deliver a brand-new home that meets the needs and desires of the new resident.

Two home sites have already been purchased and construction contracts executed. Pelican Place will welcome its first residents in December 2021.

Palacios City Council unanimously approved Pelican Place in December 2020. At a city council workshop, Lynn presented information about the new subdivision for the body’s consideration and approval in a special-called meeting that followed. Currently, utilities are being installed at the location on Seventh Street, and streets will be installed in the coming weeks.

Pelican Place is ideal for first-time homebuyers and empty nesters alike, who seek the amenities of living near the bay without sacrificing time with family for a long commute. The development company is excited to market the location and encourage homebuyers to take advantage of historically low interest rates.

The development name, as well as the floor plan names and street names inside the development, pay homage to Palacios’ claim to fame.
